Delete your Studafy account
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This page explains how to delete an account in Studafy, the school app made by Studafy Limited.
In the app
- Open Studafy and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap your profile picture to open Account, then open Sign-in and security, then Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted and what your school keeps, confirm, and sign in again when asked.
A parent deletes a child account they manage in the same way, from the child's account. **Deleting a parent's own account also deletes every child account they manage**, because nobody else can sign in to them; the app names these accounts before you confirm.
Before you delete, you can download a copy of your data: Account, then Download my data.
Without the app
Email hello@studafy.com from the email address you sign in to Studafy with, with the subject "Delete my account". If you cannot send from that address, tell us the address, and we will ask you to confirm in a way that proves the account is yours. We never ask for your password. We reply within one month.
What happens next
- For 14 days the account can still be restored: sign in and cancel the deletion in the app, or email us.
- After 14 days the account is deleted. You can no longer sign in, and we:
- erase your email address, name and sign-in details;
- replace your name on your profile and on class rosters with "Deleted user" or "Deleted student", and clear your gender;
- end your memberships, family links and conversations;
- delete your devices and notification settings, notifications, blocks, data exports, notebooks and study notebooks, AI usage records, and your personal photos (photos for the notebook or the study helper);
- remove your email address from invitations.
What is kept
Some records belong to your school or are kept by law, and stay after your account is deleted, without your name:
- school records: marks and their history, attendance, work you handed in and its files, which your school may be required to keep;
- messages you already sent, which stay with the people you sent them to, shown as from "Deleted user";
- audit and security records of what happened in the app;
- consent records (what you agreed to, and when), for 6 years;
- payment records, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Encrypted backups hold a copy for up to 30 days before they are deleted.
